Nampally: Telangana State BJP Minority Morcha vice-president Syed Sayeed Alam accused the Telangana State Haj Committee of continuously humiliating the Haj pilgrims from the state and ill-treating them. He lamented that it was not even in a position to conduct Haj Orientation Training Programmes in a proper and respectful manner.

Syed Sayeed Alam alleged that despite receiving an amount of Rs 4 crore as budgetary provision and about Rs one crore funds from the Haj Committee of India, the TS Haj Committee was depending on the private institutions and individuals for organizing Haj Training Camps.

He said that these camps were being held in different parts of the state and local people are made to raise funds by collecting donations to meet the expenses of training camps and arranging lunch for the participants.

Furthermore, he said that the Haj Committee has no skills and guts to organise such camps. All the arrangements are made by the people of the area where the camps were being held, he added.

Syed Sayeed Alam also said that the Haj pilgrims were forced to move from one corner of the city to another to attend the training programmes which often causes irritation to them besides hurting their religious sentiments.

He said that these training camps were often held in narrow lanes, where neither proper facilities were available. He said that these camps should be held in centrally located places like at the public garden mosque in Nampally or in Darulshifa mosque, where abundant space is available both for parking and sitting. He asked what the Haj Committee was doing with the funds of Rs 5 crore including Rs 4 crore state budget and Rs 1 crore from the Central Haj Committee.

He alleged that the Telangana State Haj committee was misusing the funds worth Rs 5 crore. He said that if the Haj Committee cannot organise the camps at convenient places then he was ready to make his own arrangements for this purpose.
