Himayatnagar candidate B Chayadevi files nomination

Himayatnagar: Hyderabad district CPI secretary E T Narasimha contended on Thursday that both the BJP and TRS parties have no right to seek votes in the GHMC elections for adopting 'anti-people policies'. Speaking after the party's Himayatnagar division candidate B Chayadevi, who is a State committee member, filed her nomination for the ensuing elections in the GHMC Abids circle office, he accused the BJP at the Centre and TRS in the State of not honouring promises made to the electorate.

The CPI leader hit out at TRS for pushing the State into debt trap and 'taking corruption and nepotism to the highest level in the name of development'. He criticised the ruling party for failing to achieve any planned development in Hyderabad, barring construction of flyovers with the 'motive of securing commission'.

Narsimha recalled the recent shocking experiences of the City residents during floods and said even a minor rain could cause problems to them, making life hell. He sought to know what development was ushered in during the last over six years by the TRS party rule in GHMC. While pointing out that the Left parties. which took up many public agitations. were needed in the current situation, he sought voters' support for Chayadevi who strove for achieving people's unity and good governance, besides working for their voice to be heard. Chayadevi recalled her role as a Mahila Samkhya leader in agitations in Himayatnagar in support of the Women's Reservations Bill and several people's problems, like unemployment.

She alleged that the TRS government has failed on all fronts, including development of Hyderabad, while assuring to be with people in solving their problems. She promised to be the voice of the poor and middle classes.

Among those who accompanied Chayadevi were Khairatabad constituency CPI secretary Mamidichetla Venkat Swamy and AIYF Hyderabad district president R. Balakrishna.
