Soujanya began Bharatanatyam at the age of 3 and started her training in the Kalakshetra style under guru Suma Nagesh. "I also had the distinct privilege of training under legendary gurus. I draw great support from my mother-in-law guru Nagamani Srinivasa Rao, (director, Bharatha Darshana) who is an accomplished dancer, nattuvanar, musician, and the sister of legendary artists, guru Adyar K Lakshman and guru Adyar K Rama Rao, and Mridanga Vidwan Adyar K. Gopinath."

She is active within her community and stressing on her works she shares, "I have presented workshops in several school districts and universities in the United States to foster love of the arts in the younger generations. 'Adventure into Arts' is one among the many such most loved programmes designed.

of my productions includes 'Sambhavami Yuge Yuge' based on the Dashavataras of Vishnu in correlation with Charles Darwin's theory of Evolution. I have conceptualised anddirected other unique dance dramas such as 'Mudras' based on the theory of dance, 'Navarasa Nayaki' based on Soundarya Lahari and most recently 'Pratyaksha Daivame' based on Adi Shankaras life for the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana Festival."

Soujanya is a dedicated teacher who blends tradition, such as conducting exams in theory and practical knowledge, with innovation, such as being one of the first teachers in the United States to teach students online. She says, "I enjoy working with special needs children and believe that every child should have an opportunity to learn this beautiful art form. I teach Carnatic music, yoga, and Sanskrit. I aspire to propagate the values of culture and tradition through this divine dance form to the next generation far from her motherland."
