Centre doing injustice to weaker sections
State president of Backward Classes Welfare Association Jajula Srinivas Goud accused the State and the Central governments of conspiring against the interests of the BCs, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and minorities to deprive them of educational opportunities.

He was speaking at a round- table on central government's prejudice in granting UGC national fellowships to BCs, SCs, STs and minority students. The event was jointly organised by BC, SC and ST student associations at Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram on Wednesday.
Srinivas Goud alleged that the central government had been keeping students of downtrodden sections away from education by not giving them the UGC national fellowships. He said only four to five fellowships were given to students from the downtrodden sections, he lamented.
He warned the central government not to underestimate the power of students and recalled that the N Janardhan Reddy had to resign from Chief Minister's post following students struggle. He criticising the state government for fixing a limit of 20-30 acres of land to establish a private university in the state. He demanded that the government increase the minimum land size to at least 500 acres.
Goud said that students from various universities would form a united federation to fight against injustice being done to BCs, SCs, STs and minority students. He said that protests and rallies would be staged at all the universities on August 27 to protest the central government's prejudice. On August 30, an all-party meeting would be held to hold discussions on the issue, he added.
If the central government fails to respond, the students would lay siege to ministers' houses in New Delhi, he warned.Among those who participated in the round-table conference were BC Student Association leaders Kulkacharla Srinivas, Shyam Kuruma, state PDSU secretary Ramu and leaders of other student associations.
