Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he would attend virtually attend the foundation ceremony of the parliament building.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that he would virtually attend the foundation stone ceremony of Central Vista Project.

The Chief Minister termed the new Central Vista Project as a symbol of self-esteem, prestige and national pride of a resurgent, confident and strong India. He also wished for the speedy completion of this prestigious nationally important project.

The Central Vista Project contemplates a new Parliament building, a common secretariat for Central government office including the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and residence, Special Protection Group (SPG) building and Vice-President Enclave.

The new Parliament complex will be of triangular shape will house more than 1,200 Members of Parliament (MP)-888 in the Lok Sabha and 384 in the Rajya Sabha. While the 93-year-old existing complex can house 545 Lok Sabha and 245 Rajya Sabha MPs. The new Parliament building is expected to be completed by 2022 and the entire project is expected to be built by 2024.
