Cyberabad: The Cyberabad police have initiated a special drive, 'Nighanetram' (CCTV cameras), and has been making efforts to the project successful by obtaining donations from establishments under 80G tax exemption. As part of its overreach, Natco Pharma CEO Nannapaneni Rajeev donated Rs 25 lakh to Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjannar on Thursday.

Lauding the noble gesture, Sajjanar said that CCTV cameras would help in securing support for solving cases in the shortest period of time. The Commissioner said, "We thank Natco Pharma for supporting us in creating a safe and secure Cyberabad. It is good that the corporates are coming forward and taking part in community safety and security and helping police establish a safe and secure Cyberabad."

The rural areas of Cyberabad, especially low income and downtrodden neighborhoods, are not in a position to support the community CCTV project on their own, as contribution to the CCTV system is beyond their affordability.

On the other hand, the areas are the most important in Cyberabad from point of view of public safety, sanitation, supplies and logistics, requiring constant vigilance. Shamshabad DCP N Prakash Reddy, Shadnagar ACP V Surender and Natco Pharma HR Laxmi Narayana and other were present on the occasion.
