Masab Tank: On the occasion of 88th birth anniversary of former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam, Private Teachers Association and Lakshya Sadhana Foundation jointly organised a programme to present awards to best teachers, at Nafeez Apartment here on Sunday. The Teachers Association president, Bade Saab, and Telangana government advisor KV Ramanachary presented the awards.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramanachary said he was inspired by Swami Vivekananda and Dr Abdul Kalam, who were best teachers he had known. Describing the profession as sacred, he urged teachers to read Dr Abdul Kalam's book 'Wings of Fire' and follow the principles propagated in his book. Praising the humble nature of the former President, he said that Dr Kalam had served his guests with the personal money he received as the President.

Terming him a great soul, Ramanachary said that Abdul Kalam has set a precedent as a noble president who had not used government resources or properties for his personal interests. He urged the teachers take Dr Abdul Kalam as their ideal and perform their duties to transform student's lives.

Among those who participated in the programme were Lakshya Sadhana Foundation president Pragna Raju, teachers KV Janardhan, Hari Krishna Sharma, Murthy Sridevi, Abdul Sameer, Sathyanarayana and others.
