Medchal: District Collector MV Reddy called upon farmers of the district to avail the soil tests being conducted by the state government to know the mineral deficiency in their fields and use appropriate fertilisers for better productivity. The Collector was speaking at soil testing programme organised at Jaganguda village of Shamirpet mandal on Tuesday.

Addressing farmers at the meeting, Collector MV Reddy advised the farmers to take advantage of soil tests to know the mineral deficiency in their lands and use appropriate fertilisers accordingly to improve productivity.

He handed over soil test certificates to the farmers whose lands were tested. He advised farmers to take crop insurance to prevent losses due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms. Later, the Collector interacted with farmers and villagers and received memorandums and complaints from them. He instructed the district officials to pursue the complaints and get them resolved at the earliest.

RDO Lachi Reddy, District Agriculture Officer Mary Rekha, DRDO Kautilya, DPO Ravi Kumar, horticulture officer Sattar, tahasildar Govardhan, Vishnuvardhan Reddy, MPP Chandra Shekhar Yadav, district and mandal officials participated in the programme.
