Festival gifts to poor women at Gachibowli division
Launching the government’s prestigious programme of ‘Bathukamma’ saree distribution on Thursday in Khajaguda and Raidurgam in Gachibowli division, corporator Saibaba observed that the festival would reflect the Telangana culture.
Serilingampally: Launching the government's prestigious programme of 'Bathukamma' saree distribution on Thursday in Khajaguda and Raidurgam in Gachibowli division, corporator Saibaba observed that the festival would reflect the Telangana culture. He accused the previous governments of neglecting the Bathukamma festival and said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was giving sarees as festival gifts to women, who were pleased to receive the sarees.
Saibaba pointed out that, it is only in Telangana that welfare schemes like 'Kalyana Lakshmi','Shaadi Mubarak' were being implemented across the country. He assured that every woman seeking the 'Bathukamma' sarees will be given one without any hitch. Among those present on the occasion were GHMC staff and TRS activist Satish.
