Drainage works left incomplete causing severe problems during monsoon

Allwyn Colony: The roads in Tulasinagar area of Allwyn Colony division have been flooded because of rains causing severe hardship to residents. Adding to their woes is the overflowing sewerage water. As usual, the officialdom is indifferent to the people's problems resulting in lack of hygiene.

The residents while speaking to The Hans India alleged that local officials during summer failed to implement preventive measures to stop flooding in low-lying areas in the monsoon season. This has led to stagnation of water and dirty surroundings during rainy season. They said there has been a spurt in the growth of mosquitoes leading to people getting afflicted with viral fevers like dengue, malaria and typhoid.

According to the residents, HMWSSB officials have been negligent in leaving the drainage work incomplete. As a result, ditches have been left open posing a threat to people. They want officials to respond to the situation and take remedial action.
