Garbage has been piling up everywhere in Manikonda and the locals are blaming GHMC officials for negligence and unattended garbage in the area.
Manikonda: Garbage has been piling up everywhere in Manikonda and the locals are blaming GHMC officials for negligence and unattended garbage in the area. The long stretch of Manikonda main road is completely littered with garbage for the past seven months.
Lakshmi Prasanna, a techie residing in Manikonda, complains of unauthorised dumping in the corners of streets. "It's stench from the piled-up garbage that is affecting our lives. Moreover, the sanitation staff burn the garbage causing severe air pollution affecting residents and passers-by," she said.
Residents are worried over causing an epidemic due to the uncleared garbage dump. The contractors and supervisors were not monitoring the lifting of garbage regularly. Not a single official or sanitation staff is seen in the area. Several complaints have been made but all in vain, said the residents.
