Rajendranagar: The ID cards issued by GHMC to local street vendors will help them in getting financial assistance from the banks in the form of loans under various schemes.

During a meeting of Town Vending Committee, various issues pertaining to street vendors and traffic congestion at various points under Rajendranagar were discussed on Wednesday. The higher officials held that the ID cards would be useful for getting loans.

GHMC Deputy Commissioner, D Pradeep Kumar, who is also the chairman of Town Vending Committee (TVC), asked all the street vendors to apply for ID cards, as this would help them to operate at designated places without any trouble from authourities. He urged the street vendors to avoid using plastic bags in order to save our environment.

More vendors to be issued ID cards

More local street vendors would be issued ID cards to help them perform their business. Kumar stressed on forming common interest groups consisting of street vendors in order to extend them financial support from the banks. "By having ID cards, the vendors can avail loan facility extended by the banks to run their business"

Almost 767 vendors, who used to do their business at weekly markets, were issued ID cards by the Town Vending Committee.

The meeting of Town Vending Committee (TVC) would be held once in a month in the presence of all the members of the committee that includes officials of UCD Section, Sanitary Wing and AMHO GHMC Rajendranagar besides ACP Traffic and ACP Law and Order.

The meeting was attended by Project Officer UCD Section S Anil Kumar, Section Officer Ramakrishna, officials from Traffic and Law and Order beside few of the members of TVC. Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar chaired the meeting which lasted for one hour.
