Medak: The Southwest Monsoon has been normal over Telangana during the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Friday. However, the Met department bulletin said rain occurred at a few places in Medak, Sangareddy, Vikarabad, Siddipet and Ranga Reddy districts.

The chief amounts of rainfall (in cm) were: Ramayampet (Medak), Jogipet ( Sangareddy) 4 each, Hathanoora (Sangareddy), Doma (Vikarabad) 3 each, Dubbak (Siddipet) , Mominpet (Vikarabad), Saroornagar (Ranga Reddy) 2 each. There was 1 cm rain each in Nawabpet (Vikarabad), Mirdoddi (Siddipet), Sadasivpet (Sangareddy).

The rain is being caused by the upper air cyclonic circulation over the north-west Bay of Bengal and its adjoining areas of West Bengal and north coastal Odisha merging with the trough running from the north-west Rajasthan to Gangetic West Bengal.

According to the forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places across the State from October 5 to 8. No large change during the period October 9-11 is the weather outlook. The bulletin warned of heavy rain is very likely to occur on October 8 at isolated places in Telangana.
