Hyderabad: GHMC mulls crackdown on parking violations

Hyderabad: In order to provide better civic amenities and better parking facility for smooth flow of traffic, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has listed a series of initiatives - to provide multi-level parking facilities; to take action on vehicles parked in no parking zone; on vehicles parked roadside; on damaged or condemned vehicles parked for longer period obstructing the flow of traffic and sweeping on roads and on footpaths.

In this regard a team of KGL multinational company, Kuwait, engaged in transportation, logistics and chain management, gave power point presentation to the officials of GHMC and Police Department. They informed the present process practicing in Kuwait and other places on towing and impounding of vehicles on the instructions of the police officials.

At the time of impounding vehicles, they take details of vehicles, like make, photograph of the vehicle, nature of violation, and tag to the vehicle by which all information of the vehicle could availed on a single click, i.e. nature of violation, location of violation, no of days at impounding yard and fine to be paid.

Mayor Bonthu Rammohan, Commissioner GHMC DS Lokesh Kumar, Additional DG Jitender, Additional CP Traffic Anil Kumar and other senior officials attended the meeting.
