Hyderabad: Megha Engineering Infrastructures Ltd. (MEIL) has built the Oncology building at the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS).

Spread over 20,000 sq ft, the oncology block is equipped with all the modern amenities and is on par with any corporate hospital. It will be inaugurated by on Saturday Minister for Health Eatala Rajender.

The 50-bed building is equipped with oxygen, ventilator and lift for emergency services. It has separate wards for men and women patients, a paediatric ward and an exclusive leukaemia ward for blood cancer patients.

Built in 2018 and spread over 18,000 sq ft, it houses an ultra-modern cancer facility, built at Rs 10 crore to treat cancer patients on the second floor.

MEIL took up the maintenance of the second floor. It was then that MEIL Chairman PP Reddy and MD PV Krishna Reddy promised to develop the ground floor and the first floor of the building with all modern amenities.

MEIL has equipped the building with a bed-lift that can carry 20 patients, at a time, CCTV cameras, LED lights, electrical room and centralised air-conditioning. The ICU unit has oxygen and vacuum pressure facility. Every two beds in the wards have access to oxygen and vacuum facility.

A doctors' room, a faculty room, storeroom, processing room and staff room are built, making it a full-fledged unit to deal with any emergencies related to cancer patients.
