Perennial civic issues facing the division are pothole-ridden Miyapur-Bachupally main road, bad state of lakes, lack of illumination in colony parks, bad condition of electric poles, sewage overflow issues, irregular clearance of garbage etc.

Though, Miyapur (ward no. 108) is a rapidly growing suburb comprising new localities in Hyderabad, the residents are facing severe hardships due to the lack of basic amenities for the past several years. Some of the perennial civic issues affecting the division are pothole-ridden Miyapur -Bachupally main road, bad state of condition of lakes Medikunta (15 acres) and Anumula Kunta, lack of illumination in colony parks, bad condition of electric poles, sewage overflow issues, irregular pick up of garbage.

Residents alleged that GHMC officials and local corporator Meka Ramesh were making false promises on developing the area. The ward which comes under Serilingampally zone has 57822 voters and covers major areas like Martrusri Nagar, BK Enclave, Alluri Seetha Ramaraju Nagar, Widia Colony. This un- reserved division (108) is being represented by corporator Meka Ramesh since 2016 after he won on TRS ticket with 9,076 votes against the nearest rival Tandra Kumar who received 2,193 votes.

The major concerns of this ward are of restoring of the two lakes as even a moderate amount of rainfall inundates the colonies. With no proper drainage system, the sewage water overflows into lakes and during monsoon the water gushes out into lanes. Apart from this, the construction debris are dumped in the internal lanes and there is not proper enforcement team to take up the issue and also on controls of road cutting.

"The main concern of this ward is restoration of medikunta and Anumula kunta lakes where sewage water is diverted into them and have been taken over by water hyacinth," said Vinay Vangala, a resident of Miyapur. "Also some electric poles in the colony are dangerously poised which may result in serious accidents, many plaints have been filed with the authorities concerned over the issue but no action has been initiated yet," said H Raju, a resident of Miyapur.
