Illegal detentions of activists denounced
Various people’s associations staged a protest in front of Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram condemning illegal detentions by the state government here on Thursday.
Bagh Lingampally: Various people's associations staged a protest in front of Sundaraiah Vignana Kendram condemning illegal detentions by the state government here on Thursday.
They were protesting against the illegal detention of Virasam Jagan, CMS Shilpa, TVV Maddileti, Balaram and Naganna at Gadwala three days ago under the UPA Act.
Speaking on the occasion, representatives of the associations denounced filing of illegal cases against those who raise voice against the government. It was an attempt to silence those who had been fighting for preservation of civil and democratic rights of the citizens, they alleged.
They also demanded that the state government call RTC employees for discussions and merge RTC with the state government. They urged the government to respond to the RTC strike and resolve the issue at the earliest to prevent public inconvenience.
Among those who participated in the protest were POW Sandhya, Bhoopathi Venkateshwarulu of Telangana Sahithi, DYFI secretary Vijay, TVV secretary Sandeep, Bandaru Vijaya, Virasam activist Aravind, AISF activist Harish, Gopi, Viplav Kumar and others.
