Hyderabad: Everyone gives charity during Ramadan, but giving used clothes to the poor in a way they look brand new, in a dignified way, is far better an idea. A youngster running a startup is just doing that. He has started collecting old clothes from kind-hearted people and makes them look brand new before distributing them to orphanages and the homeless.

A startup Magic Klean with its office in Masab Tank and processing center in Golconda, which secialises in laundry, collects used and old clothes from door to door. Later, it washes and irons them at its laundries. It aims to distribute neat clothes to the needy in the first week of June.

Terming its campaign as 'The Joy of Giving,' the startup during the holy month of Ramzan is targeting individuals, families and corporates and urging them to donate their old clothes.

These clothes are picked up by the Magic Klean laundry, where the clothes go through the wash-clean-iron-pack cycle, the cost of which is borne by the startup. "There is a good response from the people, as they tend to help by any means possible in this month. On Thursday alone we were able to collect over 1,000 clothes," said Yousuf Khan, the founder of this startup.

According to him, the objective of the initiative is to turn the old clothes look news ones and presenting them in a 'dignified manner' to the needy. Yousuf's idea is admired by his friends and family, who are supporting him in this initiative this Ramzan, but Yousuf has plans to continue helping people through this initiative throughout the year.

To encourage people to donate old and used clothes, the startup is offering 10% discount to its customers, who partake in the 'The Joy of Giving' initiative. "Magic Klean started as an on-demand, door-to-door pickup and delivery, dry cleaning and laundry service based in Hyderabad.

In Ramzan, the startup will do its magic to make the old and used clothes look as good as new, before donating them. Those who want to join Magic Klean in this noble initiative may download the GPS-based app to select pickup and delivery location.
