Shahalibanda: On the occasion of 'Liberation Day' in Union of India, Youth Congress State Spokesperson S P Kranthi Kumar organised national flag hoisting at Gowlipura Gandhi statue on Tuesday.

Later, floral tributes were paid to Gandhi statue and Sardar Patel portrait and the activists lauded the remarkable services of first Prime Minister of Independent India Jawaharlal Nehru and the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Sardar Patel in merging Hyderabad state ruled by Nizam in the Union of India.

They particularly hailed the key role played by Patel in integration of princely states in the Indian Union. Senior Congress Leaders S Prutviraj, K Santosh, Chandu, Locality Senior Citizens S Narsing Rao, Harikrishna, D R Prabhakar, Sravan Kumar and local School students participated in this program.
