Mahatma Jyothiba Phule strove for the downtrodden
President of Moulali division TRS party Mohan Yadav along with other local TRS leaders paid tributes to Mahatma Jyothiba Phule on the occasion of 129th death anniversary of the noted social reformer, here at Phule statue located in Malkajgiri Railway quarters, on Thursday.
Moulali: President of Moulali division TRS party Mohan Yadav along with other local TRS leaders paid tributes to Mahatma Jyothiba Phule on the occasion of 129th death anniversary of the noted social reformer, here at Phule statue located in Malkajgiri Railway quarters, on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Mohan Yadav praised the contributions of Mahatma Jyothiba Phule in societal reforms during his period. Phule strived for abolition of child marriages and encouraged widow marriages, he said.
Phule worked tirelessly for the welfare downtrodden sections and made his wife literate so that she can teach women, he said. Due to his efforts, social evils such as Sati were eliminated, he said.
Local TRS leaders M Jagadish Goud, Sadiq, Narsinga Rao, Osman, Chandrakanth, Shareef, Muthyam Reddy, Shekhar, RSV Raju and others participated in the programme.
