MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy seeks CSR funds for local development
Local MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy on Tuesday urged the managements of bulk drug units in the constituency to spend their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds only here for the area’s development and not elsewhere.
Patancheru: Local MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy on Tuesday urged the managements of bulk drug units in the constituency to spend their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds only here for the area's development and not elsewhere. He was speaking after submitting a representation to the Bulk Drug Manufacturers' Association secretary Eshwar Eeddy in Sanathnagar.
Reddy pointed out that people and farmers of Patancheru had suffered a loss because of the investments made by local industries elsewhere. He stated that land, water and air in the constituency had become polluted because of the effluents released by industries locally.
He observed that, "although it is difficult to overcome the loss, at least the industries should cooperate in developing areas in this constituency. The least the industries can do, after putting up units and making profits, is to spend CSR funds for the benefit of people of Patancheru and become partners in development."
