Kacheguda: The RTC employees' whose strike entered the tenth day on Monday held a dharna at Kacheguda depot along with leaders of various political parties.

Addressing the protestors, CPI(M) city secretary M Srinivas, while complimenting the employees for striking work for 10 days, regretted the attitude of Minister Erraballi Dayakar Rao and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao towards the RTC employees, accusing them of adopting double standards.

He recalled Dayakar Rao's statement in 2015 during the struggle by the RTC staff that he would force KCR to yield, while opposing his dictatorial rule. "Now, after becoming a minister, he is resorting to KCR bhajan," the CPI(M) leader ridiculed.

Srinivas, while noting the suicides of Srinivas Reddy and Surender Goud, appealed to the RTC employees not to resort to desperate steps and, instead, fight for securing their rights. He asked KCR to call the RTC JAC leaders for talks to end the impasse, and cautioned that CM's adamant attitude would only result in intensified agitation. "Before the strike becomes a people's struggle, the just demands of the employees should be conceded by the government," he demanded.

Among those present during the dharna were CPI(M) leaders Mahender, Y R Reddy, Venkatesham, Ravikumar, Ashok, CPI (ML) activist Aruna, IFTU's Suryam, PSM State secretary Narsimha. The PSM activists regaled the gathering with their songs.
