Renovated Army canteen opens
Renovated Golden Palm Unit Run Canteen (URC) was inaugurated by Major General N Srinivas Rao, General Officer Commanding, Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA) at Secunderabad military station on Tuesday.
Secunderabad: Renovated Golden Palm Unit Run Canteen (URC) was inaugurated by Major General N Srinivas Rao, General Officer Commanding, Telangana & Andhra Sub Area (TASA) at Secunderabad military station on Tuesday.
The URC was established in 1962 under HQ Andhra Sub Area for the ex-servicemen and serving persons of twin cities. The last renovation was carried in the year 2011 where the main shed was constructed.
The URC provides grocery, liquor and against firm demand (AFS) items for the servicemen and ex-servicemen (ESM) with separate dedicated counters for them. Now the newly constructed extended waiting area would accommodate a large number of persons. Brigadier MD Upadhyay, Station Commander, Officers from HQ TASA and staff of the URC were present on the inauguration ceremony.
