Sahasra Kalasha Puja in January
‘Sahasra Kalasha Puja,’ which is performed once in every 12 years, will be performed in January 2020. This was announced by the organisers of Ayyappa temple here at a press conference on Sunday.

The puja would be performed by the hereditary main priest of Sabarimalai temple Srikanth Rajeevaru tantri. As part of this puja, sacred water would be filled in small vessels made of copper, silver and brass and would be presented to deities as 'Abhishekham' amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras.
The puja would begin on January 24 and end on January 30, organisers said, the puja is expected to incur expenditure for Rs 22 lakh which would be collected from devotees as donation. The organisers appealed people to attend the puja. The devotees can book for puja at temple or contact mobile number 9398133630 for further details, organiser Sunil Kumar said.
