Save Kothakunta Cheruvu from encroachment: CPI
The Secretary of CPI in Serilingampally constituency, K Srisailam Goud, on Tuesday demanded steps to save the government land under Hafeezpet Kothakunta Cheruvu from encroachment, failing which the party would approach the Telangana High Court.

At a press conference in Basheerbagh Press Club, Goud alleged that some ruling party leaders and anti-social elements had taken up illegal construction after occupying four acres.
He claimed that no action was taken even after the local residents represented on the issue to local MRO, while alleging that the Revenue staff was colluding with the encroachers, who allegedly sold the lands to big builders
The CPI leader demanded intervention of the district collector and action against encroachers and stopping of the construction work. Otherwise, he warned of taking up a phased agitation on the issue. Goud wanted the government to take over the land for distribution to the poor.
Among those present were party leaders Chennayya, Rajita, Kalavati, Chinnayya Swamy.
