Local corporator Komirishetty Saibaba on Thursday, along with some retired government employees, took up ‘Shramdaan’ under the auspices of an NGO to clear garbage and weeds on the premises of a school.

Serilingampally: Local corporator Komirishetty Saibaba on Thursday, along with some retired government employees, took up 'Shramdaan' under the auspices of an NGO to clear garbage and weeds on the premises of a school.

They also planted saplings under the 'Haritha Haram' programme. Addressing the function, Saibaba stated that it was everyone's responsibility to keep their surroundings clean and green so as to ensure protection of the environment.

This would pave the way for making sure that future generations get a healthy atmosphere. He pointed out that already the TRS government had taken up the Haritha Haram programme for protecting the environment.

Among those present were are representative of NGO Y Shekhar, school teacher Pramod Reddy, retired employees Ponnayya Goud, B Swamy, Ragayya Goud, villagers Eshwar and Lakshman.
