Hyderabad: A 43-year-old software engineer belonging to West Bengal committed suicide on Wednesday at Oyo lodge in Abhyudayanagar under Vanasthalipuram police station limits. The victim was identified as Sangeetha.

According to A Venkataiah, SHO, Vanasthalipuram Police Station, the victim along with her lover Lokesh (28, belonging to Punjab) came to Hyderabad on May 5 and both of them were staying in the lodge. They got acquainted on Facebook in 2017 and met for the first time in Punjab in 2018. On Tuesday night Lokesh fought with Sangeetha and alleged her of talking to other persons on phone.

A common friend of both Rehan reached the lodge and took Lokesh to Moinabad. Later, due to depression she wrote a suicide letter and hanged herself to a ceiling fan. After getting information from the lodge care takers, police rushed to the spot and clues team collected the evidences. They shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital mortuary for postmortem.

By registering a case police took Lokesh and his friend into custody and are investigating the case. During enquiry, the police found that Sangeetha has two sons and she approached the court for divorce from her husband.
