Basheerbagh: Representatives of several student organisations at a round-table conference in Press Club, here on Tuesday decided to take up state-wide agitations on July 5 demanding steps by the government to check collection of excess fees by corporate institutions.

Leaders of the organisations, including Jajula Srinivas, accused the government of failing to control collection of excess fees and supporting the school/college managements by inducting their representatives into the ruling party.

The meeting demanded a law to check collection of excess fees by schools and fool-proof implementation of KG-to-PG education. It wanted the government to take steps to regulate fees by private engineering colleges in view of the Supreme Court ruling. The round-table wanted the government to strengthen its schools and Gurukul institutions.
