Tarnaka: TCS iON, a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has signed a partnership agreement with the English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) to offer location- independent evaluation services to its customers across the globe. The services will be powered by the Digital Marking Hub platform of TCS iON.

TCS iON aims to empower India as the go-to marking destination for customers seeking quality evaluation services at scale and speed. The TCS iON Digital Marking Hub is a first-of-its-kind platform that leverages the digital technology, along with the expertise of professional evaluators, to provide efficiency and speed to the marking process.

EFLU's extensive resource pool of teaching staff and senior student evaluators in large numbers will be trained on TCS iON's Digital Marking Hub platform and certified as 'Professional Markers' in the industry. The platform will allow markers to perform video, audio, and paper-pen based answer book marking.

Commenting on the partnership, Venguswamy Ramaswamy, Global Head at TCS iON, said, "We believe India has a huge opportunity to be the marking destination for the world. The Indian markers, in tandem with experienced and professional markers across the globe, can bring about efficiency and effectiveness in the marking of summative assessments.

We have built a large ecosystem of markers across the world in various subject domains. Our partnership with EFLU will provide a great opportunity to teachers and senior students of EFLU in India to participate in marking the global students in English and other foreign languages. Our Digital Marking Hub platform will enable marking to become truly location-independent."

Non-English speaking countries are increasingly focussing on English language literacy. Institutions in these countries have, therefore, enhanced their efforts towards the English language education imparted to students.

However, they are faced with the challenge of providing end-to-end management of assessment and marking of the assessments. This gives rise to the need for experts who are proficient in the English language and can support these institutions for large scale, quality assessment and marking.
