Domaluguda: TDP state secretary Ravula Chandrashekhar Reddy said that a massive protest would be held at Dharna Chowk on August 26, condemning the delay in handing over double bedroom houses to the beneficiaries by the State government. He was speaking at a meeting of TDP active members here at district TDP office on Wednesday. Senior TDP leader Aravind Goud was also present on the occasion.
Addressing party cadre, Chandrashekhar alleged that the TRS government failed to fulfil its promise of providing double bedroom houses to the poor. He called upon the people who have applied for double bedroom houses to participate in the programme to protest the State government's inaction in this regard. He said he was expecting at least six lakh people to participate in the protest.
He alleged that the State government created false hope among all sections of the society and garnered votes in the elections. He said that it was time to remember the State government about promises it made during the last elections. Speaking about the party losing grip due to migration of party leaders to other parties, he said that the party faced similar situations in the past but has recovered every time as it has strong base of party cadre.
He said that Telangana state requires TDP as it always fought for the rights of downtrodden sections, women and poor people. He appealed people who have applied for double bedroom houses to participate in the programme in large numbers and make it successful. Among those who were present on the occasion were former chairman of TDP Saibaba, TDP leaders N Kishore, Balaraju Goud, Babu and others.
