Koti: Gandhi Gyan Mandir Yoga Kendra is one of the oldest yoga institutions in the city. Ravinder Kapadia, Director of the Gandhi Gyan Mandir Yoga Kendra, says, "I started practising yoga with my father Praveen Kapadia since I was 3 years old, along with my sister and mother. Our whole family has been practising and teaching yoga. Yoga Kendra has never taken leave from teaching people for 45 under the guidance of Guru Raghuvir Dixit."

In the last few years, awareness on Yoga increased manifold and people have started to take care of themselves as lifestyle and environment have changed. People are taking to yoga to overcome work life pressures to stay calm and stress-free through yoga – both mentally and physically," he added.

Gandhi Gyan Mandir Yoga Kendra has trained over 10 lakh people. Military personnel, police and famous personalities as Gopichand, Bandaru Dattatreya have been trained here.

Yoga Kendra teaches yoga to all age groups including pregnant women. The fee is Rs 800. People trained from this institution have opened yoga centers across the world as Bali, Canada, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Sydney. This year from 24th we are implementing certificate course which lasts for 1-3 months.

On the occasion of International Yoga Day on Friday, Surya namaskar asanas would be performed for an hour in which 150-200 people are expected to take part in it.
