With the objective of inculcating sporting spirit amongst youth, Team NGOs Sports Club was launched by Mir Mohtesham Ali Khan, the first bodybuilder from State to win medals at international level.
Nampally: With the objective of inculcating sporting spirit amongst youth, Team NGOs Sports Club was launched by Mir Mohtesham Ali Khan, the first bodybuilder from State to win medals at international level.
This club was launched at an event organised to falicitate different NGOs serving across the country at different levels as part of recognition for their services at conference hall of Haj House on Saturday. Speaking to The Hans India on Monday, Team NGOs – India, chairman Ilyas Shamshi, said that the Team NGOs was not only encouraging people to take up social service as profession, but also encouraging youth to bring laurels by representing India at International level not only in cricket, but also in other global sports.
Hence, they have decided to come up with sports club so that youth remain not only fit but can gear up for international sporting events. "Youngsters should come forward, as India still remains under-represented at international sports events. Besides cricket, youth should take up sports seriously so that we can held our heads high at International arenas of various sports," he noted.
The event was attended by representatives of NGOs coming from different cities across India, voluntary organisations serving in different areas like health, legal, environment and various other areas were felicitated. The event also witnessed the launch of 'social business network' towards helping various voluntary groups coordinate in generating some revenue. "We have come up with this kind of model to help volunteers engaged in social generate some revenue through business opportunity. As volunteers continue to work selflessly without bothering about the next meal, the network will help them generate some funds," he said.
Earlier, the dignitaries including, TS Haj Committee, chairman, Md Masiullah Khan, TS Minority Finance Corporation, chairman, Syed Akbar Hussain and TS Wakf Board, chairman, Md Saleem handed over 'social heroes awards' to 70 NGOs. Zai ur Rahman Khan convener Team NGOS India, Mohammed Faheem, Saber Yamani, Md Naimuddin and others were present on the occasion.
