Chittoor: Protesting the vindictive attitude of the police against TDP cadre, party district unit staged a dharna at Ambedkar statue here on Tuesday, covering their eyes with black ribbons. TDP leaders raised slogans against the anarchy of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in throttling the Opposition parties.

It may be recalled here that party chief and former CM N Chandrababu Naidu visited Chittoor district on July 4. Police objected him from entering Punganur town. Addressing the protesters, party senior leader BN Rajasimhulu regretted that Punganur police have registered 60 cases against TDP activists for no fault at their end.

He charged that police have resorted to make lathi charge against TDP leaders and activists at Punganur incident indiscriminately.

He alleged that Energy Minister P Ramachandra Reddy hatched a conspiracy to attack former CM Naidu in Punganur. Chittoor former Mayor K Hemalatha, party leaders Surendra Kumar, Balaji, Kodandaiah and others were present.
