Prizes distributed to the winners of APCOST drawing contest

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh State Council of Science and Technology (APCOST) member secretary Y Aparna said that the children should have awareness on the protection of environment from the childhood and have desire to learn science.

She presented the prizes to the winners of the online drawing competitions at a programme conducted at APCOST centre at Bhavanipuram here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Aparna said, "Everyone has the responsibility to protect the environment" and congratulated the winners.

The APCOST conducted the online drawing competitions to mark the Hiroshima Day and World Ozone Day. About 300 children participated in the drawing competitions. Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Deputy Education officer M Naga Lingeswara Rao, APCOST district project officer J Dhilleswara Rao, NCSC state academic coordinator P Murali, resource persons A Srinivasa Rao, P Nageswara Rao, 20 students and parents participated in the prize distribution programme.

District Science officer M Hussain conducted the event on the instructions of the District Education officer M V Rajyalakshmi and thanked the guests for participating in the event.
