Vijayawada: The Durga temple administration has decided to strictly follow Covid guidelines for the Bhavani Deeksha relinquishment to be held next month.

The Durga Temple Trust board meeting was held here on Tuesday where members discussed various issues.

Giving details of the meeting, the Executive Officer M V Suresh Babu said there will be no bathing in Durga ghat, no Giri Pradakshina for the Bhavanis, who observe Deeksha. He further said Bhavani Deeksha relinquishment will not be allowed in the temple and made it clear the devotees have to relinquish the Deeksha at a place where they started (Maladharana).

He said the devotees can visit the temple for performing pujas and prayers. Temple Trust Board chairman P Somi Naidu and other members discussed the income and expenditure and temple administrative activities. The EO said there will be restrictions on the number of devotees visiting the temple during the Deeksha relinquishment.
