Vijayawada: Andhra Loyola College (ALC) here organised Solutions Week 2026 at its Higher Education for Persons with Special Needs (HEPSN) wing on Friday as part of the #SeeAMillion campaign led by Enable India, Bengaluru, showcasing how assistive technologies can empower persons with visual impairment through education, employment and independent living.

Thirty-six visually impaired students demonstrated a range of assistive tools and practical solutions designed to improve accessibility in education, professional development and everyday activities.

Lalitha Devi, a visually impaired student, demonstrated how she could write examinations independently using a laptop without a scribe, achieving a typing speed of 30 words per minute.

Megha, a B Sc Data Science student, showcased her ability to type in Telugu using keyboard shortcuts and enter complex mathematical equations, demonstrating how technology can make regional-language learning and advanced subjects more accessible.

Other students demonstrated artificial intelligence tools, talking measuring tapes, mathematical drawing instruments, Braille slates and writing aids.

They also showcased accessible chessboards and board games designed for visually impaired persons.
