Vijayawada: City Task Force police arrested a truck driver and cleaner and seized 546 kgs of ganja valued at Rs 27.30 lakh near Prakash Nagar under the Nunna police station limits on Thursday. The truck was travelling from Yalamanchili in Visakhapatnam to Tamil Nadu.
According to Task Force police, a team under the supervision of ACP VSN Varma noticed two persons transporting ganja in 12 tyre truck from Visakhapatnam district to Tamil Nadu. The police immediately arrested the duo Lokanatham Rajesh Khanna of Salem, and Eluvalai Venkatesh of Salem. Venkatesh is the truck owner and Rajesh Khanna is the cleaner. They uploaded some goods at Icchapuram and later loaded ganja at Yalamanchili in Visakhapatnam district to transport to Tamil Nadu. On a tip off, the police conducted the raid and nabbed the two accused and seized ganja.
