According to Wanaparthy Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) KM Kiran Kumar, the police stumbled upon this bike theft gang when they were conducting regular vehicle check near Gandhi Chowk crossroad junction on Friday afternoon. "We have arrested a five-member interstate vehicle theft gang and seized 29 two wheelers vehicles from them. Cases have been booked against all the members and they have been sent to remand," said the DSP while parading the culprits to media.

It is learnt that the police team led by Sub Inspector (SI) Venkatesh Goud and his constables who were on duty at the Gandhi Chowk junction stopped a TVS XL vehicle bearing registration number TS 32 BTR 2893 and asked for vehicle papers from them.
