The COVID-19 pandemic in India recorded the highest number so far on Friday with 6,654 cases being reported in various states across the country. The countrywide count of confirmed coronavirus patients rose to 1,25,101. The total number of deaths stands at 3,720. The all India tally of 6,654 cases recorded on Friday, is the highest single-day spike recorded so far.

Maharashtra continues to record very high number of coronavirus positive cases with the tally now rising to 44,582 and the death count standing at 1517.

Tamil Nadu has recorded 14,753 confirmed COVID-19 cases with a low fatality rate of 98 deaths. On Friday, Tamil Nadu reported 786 cases. Gujarat continues to see a sharp spike in the number of cases of confirmed Coronavirus patients with 363 patients reporting positive over the last 24 hours taking the state's tally to 13, 268. Gujarat has reported a very high fatality rate of 802 deaths.

Delhi has also been one of the major hotspots of COVID-19 and 660 confirmed cases were reported on Friday taking the total count in the national capital to 12,319. Delhi has recorded 208 deaths so far.

Rajasthan has reported 6,494 confirmed cases of COVID-19 so far with 267 of them being reported on Friday. The state has recorded 153 deaths so far.

Madhya Pradesh has reported 6,170 confirmed COVID-19 cases with 189 of them being reported on Friday. The state has seen a high mortality rate of 272 deaths.
