Delhi Police had pulled him by his collar, he was dragged out of a house and slammed on to a road in South Delhi by the "professional" personnel of the Delhi Police on Sunday. As he was protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Bill rocked Jamia Millia Islamia University.
A gang of Delhi Police having their batons in their arms that they hurled at anyone they could see. So, they were beating a man on a road then his four friends, all women, rushed towards him and formed a protective shield to save him.
But he was lay crying out in pain as six "professional" cops of the Delhi Police had rained blows of batons, one after the other, on him.
Even after forming a shield for protection by women to protect their friend, the cops did not stop. They continued to charge at them. At least two "very professional" cops were armed with heavy wooden poles that are not seen usually in police armament of crowd control.
One "professional" cop of Delhi was in civil clothes and armed with one such pole lashed out the women and their male friend lying on the floor.
Next day, the student suffers a broken nose and his hand is bandaged. His name is Shaheen and the exact nature of injuries remains unknown.
While speaking to media about the police attack on him, Shaheen says his friends were very brave.
"The cops were continuously hitting me even as I asked them to stop. It was very painful. The girls were very brave and tried to protect me by forming a shield around me," he said.
"The girls bravely confronted the cops and shouted slogans to go back. They were bravely holding me together. Once the girls came in front of me, I got very worried. The policemen were not distinguishing between girls and boys. They were slamming everyone and smashing everything in front of them," he said.
Many students have said that they were going inside their residence and the Delhi Police has dragged them out.
You must have seen the viral video of the entire scene on the social media. In the video one can see the police gang standing outside a house and egging on the students to come out. As the woman students raise slogans asking them to leave the place, one of the cops starts pulling her out of the premises.
Meanwhile, other police men look on and can be heard saying "bahar nikalo...bahar nikalo inhain (bring them out, bring then out)".
When even male student tries to cover his friends and take them inside, the three cops lash out at him from behind. They then pull him by the collar of his jacket and drag him to the road to and beaten him.
A merciless rain of baton blows follows on him, he was crying out in pain pleading them to stop. Seeing their friend in this condition, the women rush and formed a protective shield to save him from cops.
Still a bleeding broken nose, a bandaged arm and unknown injuries remain on the student.
"We are not scarred by this. We are going to fight and protest. We are going to organise and we are going to fight- they said.
