Godavari first warning withdrawn at Dowleswaram
Godavari First Warning Wwithdrawn at Dowleswaram. East Godavari district Collector Neetu Prasad said on Thursday that the first warning, continuing in the Godavari at Dowleswaram in the district, was withdrawn in the morning, as the water level reached 11.70 ft at 10 am. The water discharge at the bridge was 10.20 lakh cusecs.

Kakinada: East Godavari district Collector Neetu Prasad said on Thursday that the first warning, continuing in the Godavari at Dowleswaram in the district, was withdrawn in the morning, as the water level reached 11.70 ft at 10 am. The water discharge at the bridge was 10.20 lakh cusecs.
She said as the water level was receding, the administration was concentrating on providing medical facilities in the flood affected villages. It was planning to run medical and veterinary camps.
Nearly 1,221 people were in the six relief camps in Rajahmundry, Alamuru, Devipatnam, Kothapeta, Mamidukuduru mandals .As many as 68 country boats, 14 mechanized vessels, two launches were being used for transporting people from the flood-affected areas in island villages, the collector stated.
According to preliminary estimates, 1,415 hectares of paddy in the Delta area was submerged due to the Godavari floods in the district .As many as 26 hectares of black gram , six hectares of green gram were submerged in Devipatnam mandal in the Agency area.
At Inapuram, a sluice drain area in Mummidivaram mandal, 2,000 acres of paddy was feared submerged due to floods. To protect the submerged paddy, Joint Director of Agriculture N Vijayakumar has suggested application of a booster dose---urea 10 kg and five kg potash (for the Swarna variety) and 20 kg urea and five kg potash for others---would help the revival. If any fungus was reported, he suggested spraying of Carbon Diazem one gram per litre.
