Assocom Institute of Bakery Technology and Management (AIBTM) celebrated World Bakers\' Day here today at AIBTM Campus, Greater Noida. The Knowledge Sharing Workshops by Industry Experts and Celebrity Chefs and the Bakers’ Day Celebration was inaugurated by Smt. Anuradha Prasad, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.
Assocom Institute of Bakery Technology and Management (AIBTM) celebrated World Bakers' Day here today at AIBTM Campus, Greater Noida. The Knowledge Sharing Workshops by Industry Experts and Celebrity Chefs and the Bakers’ Day Celebration was inaugurated by Smt. Anuradha Prasad, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India.
The program was graced by master chefs including Neha Shah, Parvinder Bali, Peter D Mello, Amit Gupta. Apart, many dignitries were also present during the celebration. On this occasion various activities and competitions including “Super Pastry Chef” were organized. To promote the excellence in innovation in the field of bakery “Future Bakery Scientist” award was also announced.
Smt. Anuradha Prasad, Joint Secretary , Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, said that knowing the potential of bakery industry to grow much faster as compared to the present estimated market cap of Rs 200 billion, the initiated programs by AIBTM is appreciable. Indian bakery industries need to innovate and strengthen the present government’s policy of “Make in India”.
Abhishek Naveen Hegde , Member Program Development | National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) said that the quantum of knowledge base acquired by Indian bakery industry is highly appreciated, however the sphere of knowledge needs to be broaden and the present workshop coupled with training program would help in achieving the target set by the Indian Food Processing Industries.
Raj Kapoor, Managing Director, AIBTM said that, as a part of skill training program to help in preparing base for all the grain based businesses and the associated field, we are taking proactive actions to make the bakery industry personnels aware of different aspects and scopes of the industry.
The attraction of the program was AIBTM’s International Short Courses offered by Dr. Kirk O’Donnell,AIBTM Board Member and Former Vice President, AIB, USA. The associated workshop provided hands on training on different Artisan Bread production, Advanced Cookie and Cracker Production, and Baking Science and Quality Assurance.
Assocom Institute of Bakery Technology & Management (AIBTM) was set up three years back, with specialized inputs from all the players, who are working in the bakery business. AIBTM plan to train over two thousand persons associated with the bakery industry through different centers operated by the institute in the current year. It is assured to expand a training base for all grain based industries, hospitality and related fields at AIBTM.
