Adilabad: District Superintendent of Police Sarvasresht Tripathi inaugurated the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) at the police grounds here on Monday. PET is held as part of the process of recruiting Police Constables. Of the 474 women candidates scheduled to attend the tests on Monday, 423 turned up and among them 249 were selected for written test. Measurement of height and weight, shotput, high jump, long jump and 100 meter running events were conducted under the supervision of the SP. Speaking at the programme the SP asked the applicants to rely on their hard work and not to be misguided by the rumour mongers. He asked the applicants to call 1090 or women help line 1091 if anybody approaches them promising government jobs. The SP said that written exams for the PET qualified candidates would be held at the St Joseph Convent School in the town on May 19. Additional SPs T Appa Rao, NV Kishan Rao, Training Officer Sanpreet Singh, DSPs B Narayan Rao, Murthy, Shoban Kumar, Police Doctor Niloufer and other police staff participated in the selection process.
