nayakKhanapur: Congress senior leader from Adilabad district Ajmera Rekhasyam Nayak is reportedly trying to join Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). She has reportedly called on TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao in Hyderabad recently and expressed her willingness to join the party. It is leant that KCR also gave his consent and welcomed her to join the party. Rekhasyam Nayak contested unsuccessfully as TDP rebel candidate from Khanapur Assembly constituency in 2009 general elections. Later, she joined the Congress party and worked for strengthening the party by taking up different programmes in Jannaram, Kadem, Utnoor and Indravelli mandals in the district. It is learnt that she was fed up with the Congress party due to the delay in announcing the Telangana State. Moreover, she reportedly felt that the winning chances of Congress party were bleak in the coming elections in Adilabad district due to the recent hike in power charges. Taking all factors into consideration, Rekhasyam has decided to leave the Congress party. In Khanapur Assembly constituency, some TRS leaders are opposing her admission into the party, but majority of the TRS cadres are welcoming the decision of Rekhashyam Nayak and they feel that the TRS will emerge a strong force in the district with her entry into the party.
