Mahatma Jyothirao Phule play to be staged
“The play ‘Mahatma Jyotirao Phule’ is planned to be staged on November 28 at Sri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College, Vijayawada” said the writer of the play Dr D Vijaya Bhaskar in a press meet.

Vijaya Bhaskar said that there is need to propagate the life of the great reformer, Jyotirao Phule, who fought throughout his life for the cause of social reforms like untouchability, cast system, women’s liberation and also the reforms of Hindu family life.
He also said that Jyothirao Phule is an inspiration for Dr BR Ambedkar. Vijaya Bhaskar also stated in the meeting that the legendary personality started ‘Satyashodhak Samaj’ in 1873 to attain equal rights for the people from lower castes.
The director of the Play Patibandla Anandarao said that this play was produced by Sindhoora Cultural Association, Ongole with the assistance of Andhra Pradesh State BC Welfare department and also with the help of local artistes. The director of the play requested art lovers to attend in large numbers to witness this play.
