As a part of the weekend programme the Department of Language and Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh had organised a Kuchipudi dance ballet ‘Sri Lalita Bhandasura Charitam’ on Sunday evening at Sri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College.

As a part of the weekend programme the Department of Language and Culture, Government of Andhra Pradesh had organised a Kuchipudi dance ballet ‘Sri Lalita Bhandasura Charitam’ on Sunday evening at Sri Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College. Sri Lalita Bhandasura Charitam, a mythological dance ballet was showcased by AB Balakondalarao and her troupe from Visakhapatnam.

The artistes exhibited excellent talent through their ‘Bhava prakatana’ and ‘pada vinyasam’. The choreographer and director of the dance ballet Balakondalarao is the direct disciple of the Kuchpudi dance legend Dr Venpati China Satyam. She was an eminent dancer and acted in many dance ballets.

The performance of Harini who acted as Sri Lalitha, Aditya Bulli Brahmam as Bhandasura, Varsha as Kameswari have received applauds from the audience. The other artistes Gopiraj (Brahma), Ishvarya (Vishnu), Sravika (Shiva), Girija Naidu (Indra), Nimilikha (Mohini), Pushan (Manmadha) and Padmavathi (Chitrakarnudu) also gave impressive performances to elevate the ballet.

Rohan, Mahathi, Ananya, Pranavi, Pushami, Hasini, Sravani madhu were also in the ballet. The ballet was written by Nallan Chakravarthula Jagannadhacharyulu and music composed by Nallan Chakravarthula Bhuchaya charyulu.
