2K run for women empowerment
Thousands of youngsters enthusiastically participated in the 2k run conducted on Sunday at MG Road to mark the National Women’s Parliament being conducted at Pavitra Sangamam, Ibrahimpatnam from February 10 to 12.

State Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasad, Minister for water resources development Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, Minister for Information and Public Relations Palle Raghunatha Reddy, Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs K Achche Naidu, District Collector Babu A, Commissioner of Police Guatham Sawang, Joint Collector Gandham Chandrudu, Olympic medalist P V Sindhu, chess player Koneru Hampi and others participated in the 2k Run.
Speaking on the occasion, the Assembly speaker Kodela Siva Prasad said that the event was organised to mark the National Women’s Parliament with a slogan of ‘Empowerment of Women’.
Kodela said he was delighted to see a large number of youngsters turn up for the NWP at Ibrahimpatnam and 2k Run on MG Road in the city.
Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said that the Telugu Desam party is committed to empower the women of the State. The rally was conducted from Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation Stadium to Tummalapalli Kalakshetram.
