It was a jubilation time for the city youngsters who spent morning time joyfully by participating in the Happy Sunday programme conducted on MG Road near the Indira Gandhi municipal Corporation Stadium and BRTS Road by Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.

Thousands of students and youth participated in the events and spent time dancing, singing and playing games and taking part in the cultural programmes. Yoga and Meditation also added flavor to the events.

Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner G Veerapandian has inaugurated the cycle rally at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium (IGMS) here on Sunday to create awareness over the pollution, and need of increasing greenery to prevent drought conditions in the state. The Ranigari Thota RCM school teacher M V Krishna Reddy and Telaprolu RCM school teacher A V V Prasad Babu participated in the cycle rally from IGMS to Giddaluru (Prakasam district).

Dream Children Academy (DCA) and Rotary Club of Vijayawada (RCV) conducted the drawing competition over the Swachcha Vijayawada to nearly 5000 students at the IGMC stadium. Devi Sri Prasad (10) old boy participated in the Limbo skating and entertained the viewers with his skating skills. He is the student of Silver Bell Central school in Tirupati.

Addressing the gathering VMC Commissioner G Veerapandian had praised all the participants in the Happy Sunday program. He has appealed to the people to cooperate with the officials to make Vijayawada city as a beautiful, green and happy city. Vijayawada city East MLA Gadde Ramamohan Rao said that all people should participate in the Happy Sunday program for two hours to enjoy the entire day with full josh on Sunday.

SRK group of College students entertained the public with their performance in the cultural events, Shuttle, throw ball, volley ball and other games. A large number of students also participated in Yoga and Meditation. City police rendered assistance to the VMC for the peaceful and successful conduct of Happy Sunday.
