A one-day regional workshop and awareness programme was organized by Andhra Pradesh primary teachers association general secretary Ganapati Rao, in association with National Coalition for Education and World Vision India at a private hotel here on Wednesday. The workshop was attended by teachers association members from seven states.

A one-day regional workshop and awareness programme was organized by Andhra Pradesh primary teachers association general secretary Ganapati Rao, in association with National Coalition for Education and World Vision India at a private hotel here on Wednesday. The workshop was attended by teachers association members from seven states.

The chief guest of the programme All India primary teachers federation secretary general Kamla Kant Tripathi, said that in 2015 September Government of Indiaadopted Sustainable Development Goal four and gave hope to millions of children to provide free quality education. He said that even after two years the Indian government did not make any concrete efforts to develop road maps of the project.

He said that during consultation, the increasing trend of privatization in education and shutting down of public school in the region, lack of educational budget, SDG four indicators, girl child education and violations of Right to Education in the state were broadly discussed. MLC K Narsimha Reddy and G Srinivasulu Naidu, Dr Saraswathi Raju Iyer and Dr Uday Kumar from Nagarjuna University, NEC coordinator Sonu Hari and other were present.
