Rajamahendravaram: Second batch of ‘Super 60’ students commenced at the municipal school in Narayanapuram here on Monday.

The programme was aimed at obtaining highest grades in the ensuing Class X public examination. As a part of it, Rajahamahendravaram Municipal Corporation (RMC) has selected 60 Class X students from its schools and imparts training to them upto March with boarding facility for boys and as day scholars to girl students.

Participating in the inaugural programme, Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai said that an amount of Rs 20 lakh was allocated for the benefit of ‘Super 60’ students. Separate teachers were appointed to each subject and the teachers were directed to impart quality education to the students.

The corporation is not compromising in giving quality education in all its schools and provided necessary facilities in the schools, the Mayor added.

Urban MLA Dr A Satyanarayana said the municipal corporation was maintaining the schools on par with corporate schools and many students obtained Grade 10 in last year Class X public examinations.

MLC Adireddy Appa Rao said many great personalities studied in municipal and government schools and advised the parents to join their children in corporation schools.

Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) Chairman Ganni Krishna said RMC's endeavour in this regard was role model to all municipalities in the state.

YSRCP floor leader MS Reddy, corporators LPL Kumari, SN Mani, AS Rao, CHS Rao and officials were present.
